North Scottsdale — Rancho Terrasina

Location

Scope
Landscape design, Pools and water features, Hardscape and masonry
A north Scottsdale garden built around stacked stone, glass tile and a long travertine stair.

The lot sits high with the McDowells directly behind it, so the design keeps everything low and horizontal and lets the mountains close the view.

Design

A raised spa and a second water wall are faced in stacked stone and set as a pair, spilling into a pool tiled in glass mosaic that picks up the light at dusk. A wide travertine stair steps down from the house to the pool terrace, lit at every tread, and a lawn panel runs alongside it with stepping slabs set into the turf.

Build

Merit Landworks built the stone walls, the water features, the travertine terrace and stair, the boundary planting and the full lighting scheme, grading the rear slope so the finished terrace sits level against a site that does not.
