A contemporary Paradise Valley backyard built around a rectangular lap pool and a full-width pool house.
The rear garden was rebuilt as one composition. The pool house opens across its whole width onto the terrace, the lap pool is set square to the architecture, and the paving runs out from both in a grid of large-format slabs stitched together with narrow turf joints.
Design
Mature date palms were kept and worked into the plan, framing the water on both sides so the space had height from the first day. Clipped hedging and citrus screen the boundary walls, and the lawn beyond the pool keeps the yard usable as more than a view.
Build
Merit Landworks carried the project from the drawing set through construction: paving, coping, planting, turf, boundary screening and exterior lighting, with each trade coordinated on site so the finished grades, joints and edges landed as drawn.
